Medical Store Sealed During Joint Inspection In Anantnag: Police

Anantnag | Aug, 29: Police on Saturday said that it has sealed a retail pharmacy in a joint inspection with officials of Drug Control Department in Anantnag.
In a statement issued here on Saturday Police said that a joint team during inspection of medical retail outlets across Ananatnag district, found Amreen Medical Store owned by Shafeeq Ahmad Itoo of Trahpoo, Achabal violating several prescribed requirements.
Police in its statement also said that premises were found operating with an expired licence, non-availability of electronic records, cache covers of certain scheduled drugs, unhygienic conditions, and other operational discrepancies. Taking immediate cognizance of the non-compliance, competent authorities sealed the establishment on the spot, with further legal proceedings initiated against the owner. In its statement Police also reiterated its commitment to enforce strict compliance with rules governing the sale and distribution of medicines to prevent any misuse of scheduled drugs.
