1. Chota Amarnath Yatra Begins: The annual Chota Amarnath Yatra was flagged off from Sharda Mandir, Kaloosa, Bandipora, on Friday. The 15-km pilgrimage will pass through Arin-Dardpora and Shampthan before reaching the holy cave. The administration has arranged security, medical aid, drinking water, sanitation and langar facilities. Members of the Muslim community welcomed the pilgrims.
2. Thousands Gather At Hazratbal : Thousands of devotees gathered at Dargah Hazratbal on Friday following Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) to offer prayers and glimpse the holy relic. Similar gatherings were witnessed at mosques and shrines across Kashmir, with special arrangements made by the administration and Waqf Board.
3. Raksha Bandhan Celebrated: Raksha Bandhan was celebrated across J&K on Friday, with devotees visiting temples for special prayers. The Shankaracharya Temple in Srinagar witnessed a large gathering, with the administration arranging shuttle services, traffic management, medical aid, sanitation and security.
4. Anti-terror Ops The Top Priority, Says IGP Kumar: Newly appointed IGP Kashmir Sujit Kumar said anti-terror operations remain the police’s top priority. Kumar reviewed security arrangements at Hazratbal and said the force remains committed to countering emerging threats and serving the people.
5. NITI Aayog Reviews Innovation: NITI Aayog Member Dr M Srinivas visited CSIR-IIIM Srinagar and reviewed research, innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives. He interacted with scientists and startups and stressed translating research into technologies and products benefiting society.
