Jammu hits 32.7°C, Gulmarg remains coolest at 20.8°C amid week-long wet spell forecast
Srinagar: Intermittent rainfall across parts of Jammu and Kashmir brought brief relief from hot and humid weather on Saturday, though the Meteorological Centre warned of potential flash floods, mudslides, and landslides in vulnerable areas.
According to Meteorological Centre Jammu recorded the region’s highest maximum temperature at 32.7°C, while Gulmarg was the coolest at 20.8°C. Forecasts indicate largely hot and humid conditions with scattered showers through August 28, followed by another spell of light to moderate rainfall from August 29 to 31. Orchardists in hilly areas are advised to complete chemical spraying by late morning to avoid afternoon rain, while farmers in the plains can extend spraying activities as needed.
