• LG lays foundation stone of Amriteshwar Sarovar at Sunderbani in Rajouri
• Says “community solidarity essential to counter terror, drugs and corruption”
• “Spiritual revival, stronger social bonds across J&K laudable”
Rajouri: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday laid the foundation stone of the Amriteshwar Sarovar under the Jan Sanchay Jan Bhagidari initiative at Dharpur, Sunderbani, in Rajouri district, and called for greater participation of people in efforts to counter terrorism, narco-terrorism and other social challenges.
During his visit, the Lieutenant Governor also paid obeisance at the Shri Amriteshwar Shiv Temple and prayed for peace, prosperity and the well-being of the people.
Addressing a public gathering, Sinha appreciated the local community and the Shri Amriteshwar Shiv Mandir Vikas Samiti for their collective efforts in establishing and developing the sacred site.
He said community solidarity has an important role in eliminating terrorism, substance abuse and corruption, besides contributing to economic development and a spiritual renaissance in Jammu Kashmir.
“India is going through a great spiritual revival. This cultural wave is felt across Jammu Kashmir, bringing people closer together and strengthening our community bonds,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
Sinha urged people to remain vigilant against the activities of anti-national elements, report suspicious activities and completely isolate terror sympathisers.
“Security forces alone cannot defeat terrorism. Eradicating this threat demands a whole-of-society approach,” he said, stressing that coordinated efforts by the Army, security forces, J&K Police, civil administration and residents are necessary to dismantle the financial and logistical networks of narco-terror.
The Lieutenant Governor said sustained security and societal efforts had significantly weakened terrorism and transformed the security landscape of Jammu Kashmir.
He also referred to the changing environment in the region, saying that the Tricolour, once projected as unlikely to be carried openly in Jammu Kashmir, is today being held high with pride across the Union Territory.
Sinha further emphasised that social participation must go beyond security concerns and contribute to economic and social development. He said collective community action can help create a stronger, more resilient and prosperous Jammu Kashmir.
Responding to demands raised during the visit, the Lieutenant Governor assured that sincere efforts would be made by the administration to address public grievances and local infrastructure requirements.
