Major Approvals Given For Campus Expansion, New Academic Progs

Jammu : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired the 37th Executive Council meeting of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University at Kakryal, Katra.
The Council gave in-principle approval for a 200-bed boys’ hostel funded by SMVDSB and two new academic programmes: B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.Tech in Food Technology. It adopted the budget proposals for FY 2026–27, the final audit report for FY 2024–25, and the institutional anthem (Kulgeet). Approval was also granted to complete the sports complex and establish a five-year roadmap.
The LG suggested academic relaxations and extra credits for NSS and NCC achievers, industry-linked vocational courses open to all students, and enhanced mental health counselling support across campus.
