Awantipora : The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) has launched a Special Aadhaar Enrolment and Update Drive, organized by the Dean of Students in collaboration with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
The initiative, inaugurated by Prof. Shamim Ahmed Shah, Registrar of IUST, aims to enhance accessibility to essential services for both students and the local community, running from August 13 to 27 at the Mehjoor Auditorium on the IUST Main Campus. Prof. Shah emphasized the university’s commitment to the well-being of its students and the surrounding community, expressing hopes for continued service in similar initiatives. Dr. Moinsa Qadri, Dean of Students, noted that a team of professional operators from UIDAI will be available for the initial 15 days, with the possibility of extending services based on demand. The drive is designed to provide convenient access to Aadhaar services without the usual constraints of time and location, encouraging both the university and local residents to keep their Aadhaar information updated. The launch event was attended by various officials, including Dr. Tariq Ganaie and Dr. Rais Ahmad Ganai, who supported the initiative.
