Holds stakeholder interaction, ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Rally’
Kupwara : In a major push toward regional development and educational growth, University of Kashmir (KU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nilofer Khan conducted a comprehensive review of the Kupwara Campus to address its critical infrastructural, logistical, and academic needs. Engaging in high-level discussions with university officials, civil society leaders, and district administration representatives—including Deputy Commissioner Shrikant Balasaheb Suse—Prof. Khan tackled key issues such as land demarcation, dedicated road connectivity, and student welfare.
To ensure immediate relief and rapid progress, the Vice-Chancellor issued on-the-spot directions for establishing a high-standard canteen, approved new transport vehicles, prioritized the construction of a girls’ hostel, and oversaw an on-the-spot GPS survey to map future campus expansion.
On the academic front, the visit marked a strong pivot toward youth employability with plans to introduce industry-oriented programs, including B.Sc. Nursing, Paramedical courses, and Fashion Technology. Emphasizing the institution’s strategic vision, Prof. Nilofer Khan stated, “The University is committed to developing the Kupwara Campus as a vibrant centre of quality education, skill development and academic excellence, while ensuring that its growth remains aligned with the educational aspirations and developmental needs of the region.” Resolving student grievances on the spot and participating in a spirited ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Rally’, the Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed the university’s pledge to deliver time-bound, coordinated growth for the frontier campus.
