NIT Srinagar Organises Tiranga Rally Under Har GharTiranga Campaign
Srinagar : The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar on Wednesday organized a Tiranga Rally as part of the nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign 2026, in celebration of India’s 80th Independence Day.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from various members of the NIT community, including faculty, students, and volunteers, all united in promoting patriotism and national pride through the display of the National Flag. The rally was inaugurated by Incharge Director Prof. Roohi Naaz, alongside Registrar Prof. Atikur Rehman, and included participation from Deans, Heads of Departments, and administrative staff. The Director emphasized the importance of educational institutions in fostering responsible citizenship and instilling a strong sense of civic duty and respect for democratic values among youth. He articulated that the Tiranga symbolizes unity, identity, and the sacrifices made for the nation’s freedom, urging participants to embody these values in their lives. Participants actively engaged in the rally by carrying the National Flag and chanting patriotic slogans, showcasing a collective display of national pride. This initiative aligns with the broader objectives of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign, which aims to deepen citizens’ emotional connection to the National Flag and encourage its display as a symbol of unity and identity. The rally was part of a series of activities organized by NIT Srinagar to commemorate Independence Day, reinforcing the significance of the freedom struggle and the values of national unity and constitutional integrity. The central theme of the campaign, “Tiranga – Our Pride, Our Identity, Our Nation,” encapsulated the spirit of the event.
