Srinagar : The Cultural Unit and Field Publicity Unit of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) organised vibrant Jashn-e-Azadi programmes at Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS), Kothi Bagh, and GGHSS Zadibal, as part of the celebrations commemorating the 80th Independence Day.
At GGHSS Kothi Bagh, a patriotic singing competition served as the centerpiece of a program celebrating the 80th Independence Day. Students showcased their enthusiasm through soulful solo and group performances of patriotic songs, reflecting their love for the nation and embodying themes of freedom, unity, and national pride. The event was presided over by Deputy Director Information Zubair Ahmed Lattoo, with notable attendance from Cultural Officer Abdul Raqib Bhat, Field Publicity Officer Shabir Ahmad, and Assistant Exhibition and Cultural Officer Syed Shakeel Shan, alongside Principal Dr. Sameena Wani, teachers, and students. The musical accompaniment provided by talented musicians Imtiyaz Malik, Nayeem Naqash, and Wahid Ali enhanced the vibrancy of the performances. A similar event, Jashn-e-Azadi, was held at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Zadibal, where students also engaged in patriotic singing, further promoting creative expression and national pride. Officials from the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) highlighted the significance of cultural activities in fostering patriotism and providing youth with platforms to express their creativity, emphasizing the values of unity and responsible citizenship. Principal Dr. Sameena Wani expressed her appreciation for DIPR’s efforts in organizing the program, noting that such initiatives not only allow students to showcase their talents but also deepen their sense of national belonging. The event concluded with a recognition ceremony for participating students, judges, musicians, and Principal Wani, celebrating their contributions to the program’s success and reaffirming their commitment to the ideals of the nation.
