Rather launches macadamisation of Wanpora link roads, inspects bridge construction sites

Chrar-i-Sharief : Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Abdul Rahim Rather, Monday undertook an extensive tour of Wanpora, QaziporaTakiyaHayatpora and Sarie areas of the Chrar-i-Sharief constituency to take stock of ongoing developmental works.

He interacted with the people to understand their development needs and concerns.

During his visit, the Speaker conducted a thorough review of developmental activities across various locations, emphasizing the need for enhanced road connectivity, improved infrastructure, and the resolution of long-standing community demands. A significant aspect of the visit was the initiation of macadamisation work on the Wanpora link roads, which aims to enhance the existing road network, ensuring smoother and safer travel for residents while facilitating better access to surrounding areas. Abdul Rahim Rather underscored the importance of maintaining high-quality standards during the macadamisation process to ensure the roads deliver lasting benefits. He also assessed proposed bridge construction sites, engaging with engineers and local representatives to discuss the infrastructure needs. The construction of bridges on the TakiyaNagam – Hayatpora- Dalwan road and the Wanpora- Sarie road was announced, with allocated budgets of Rs 2 crore and Rs 80 lakh, respectively, highlighting the critical role of bridge infrastructure in improving connectivity, especially during adverse weather conditions. In his interactions with local residents in Qazipora, the Speaker listened to their concerns regarding roads and basic infrastructure. He assured them that their legitimate demands would be communicated to the relevant departments for prompt action. He also announced plans for the macadamisation of Mukhadam Mohalla and Dooninar link roads in Qazipora, urging authorities to ensure timely completion of approved projects without compromising quality. The Speaker reiterated that improved road connectivity and robust infrastructure are vital for the socio-economic development of rural areas, as they facilitate access to education, healthcare, markets, and essential services. He emphasized the need for equitable development and prioritized addressing infrastructure-related issues, directing departments to be responsive to public concerns and to collaborate effectively to enhance public amenities in the constituency.
