Srinagar, June 26 : Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday paid heartfelt tributes to Imam Hussain (A.S.) and his revered companions on the occasion of Youm-e-Ashura, describing their supreme sacrifice at Karbala as an eternal symbol of courage, truth and unwavering commitment to justice.
In a message, the Chief Minister said that the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (A.S.) reaffirmed the timeless values of faith, justice and humanity.
He said that the sacrifice rendered by Imam Hussain (A.S.) and his companions continues to inspire generations across the world to uphold truth and stand against injustice.
“The martyrdom of Imam Hussain (A.S.) at Karbala stands as an eternal symbol of courage, truth and unwavering commitment to justice,” Omar Abdullah said.
The Chief Minister expressed hope that the sacred occasion of Youm-e-Ashura would inspire people to uphold the ideals of compassion, righteousness, sacrifice and communal harmony.
He also called upon people to strengthen their resolve to stand for truth and justice in all circumstances, while fostering peace, brotherhood and mutual respect in society.
