Srinagar : Adv. Jehanzeb Allaqaband, a social activist and youth leader, met with Dr. Shashi Tharoor, a prominent Member of Parliament and former Union Minister, during his visit to Srinagar.
The discussion centered around The Kashmir Conclave, an initiative aimed at fostering dialogue among various stakeholders, including policymakers, diplomats, and youth representatives, to address critical issues such as youth empowerment, economic development, and public policy in Jammu & Kashmir. The meeting also highlighted the ongoing anti-drug campaign led by Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, which has transformed into a mass movement involving youth, civil society, and local communities. Adv. Allaqaband praised the Lieutenant Governor’s leadership and commitment to combating substance abuse, emphasizing the importance of community engagement and rehabilitation efforts in this initiative. Both leaders recognized the necessity of public participation in addressing drug-related challenges and ensuring a healthier future for the youth in the region. Adv. Allaqaband expressed gratitude to Dr. Tharoor for his insights and support for The Kashmir Conclave, noting the inspiration drawn from his perspectives on governance and national development. He also acknowledged the contributions of Mrs. Shobha Tharoor Srinivasan in facilitating the meeting. The interaction concluded with a shared commitment to empowering youth and promoting constructive dialogue for the continued development of Jammu & Kashmir.
