Ganderbal, June 24: The body of a man was retrieved from a power canal in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Wednesday, officials said.
A joint team of Police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel and local residents recovered the body from the canal in the Kangan area, they said.
The deceased was identified as Ghulam Mohiuddin, son of Ghulam Hassan, a resident of Poshkar Kangan.
The body was shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kangan for medico-legal formalities, officials said.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further proceedings.
