Srinagar, : Kashmir Medical College and Hospital (KMCH) in Sempora on Saturday launched comprehensive immunization services as part of the Government of India’s Universal Immunization Programme (UIP), enhancing preventive healthcare for the community.
The immunization clinic, inaugurated by Dr. Faiyaz Ahmad, President of Milli Trust, aims to improve maternal and child health by providing free vaccination services to eligible beneficiaries, particularly children under five and pregnant women. The clinic will administer vaccines according to the National Immunization Schedule set by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. KMCH’s Managing Director, Tausif Ahmad, highlighted the significance of timely vaccinations in preventing diseases and improving health outcomes. The facility features a dedicated Cold Chain Point with advanced infrastructure to ensure the safe storage of vaccines, compliant with national guidelines. Additionally, the clinic is registered under the U-WIN digital platform, facilitating real-time beneficiary registration and vaccination tracking. Prof. (Dr.) Shahnaz Nabi, Head of the Department of Community Medicine, encouraged local residents to utilize the free services. The Department will oversee the clinic’s operations, ensuring consistent delivery of immunization services.
