Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has attached immovable properties valued at ₹1.5 crore under the NDPS Act, 1985 .
In a statement issued here on Tuesday Police said that the attached properties include a three-storey residential house worth ₹80 lakh owned by Sikander Firdous, linked to FIR No. 18/2022, and a single-storey house valued at ₹70 lakh belonging to Ghulam Hassan Bhat, associated with FIR No. 20/2022. Both properties were identified as having been acquired through proceeds from illicit narcotics trafficking. Police took actions under specific provisions of the NDPS Act, which prohibit the owners from selling or altering the properties. The investigation has confirmed that these assets are tied to drug-related activities, and the attachment aims to disrupt the financial operations of drug networks. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to combat drug abuse and trafficking, appeaing people therein to cooperate in reporting drug-related activities to foster a drug-free community.
