Varanasi : Dr. Shahid Amin, an Associate Professor in the Department of Management at ITM Gwalior and President of the Institution’s Innovation Council, represented the institution at the National Conclave on 5-S organized by the Quality Circle Forum of India in Varanasi.

Leading the “ITM 5-S Champions” team, he presented a project titled “5-S Practices in ITM,” which earned the Distinguished Award from an esteemed jury. The jury commended the institute’s dedication to workplace organization, quality culture, and continuous improvement, highlighting the notable advancements made despite the institution’s nascent stage in the 5-S methodology. In an interview with Kashmir Horizon, Dr. Amin underscored the significance of quality and continuous improvement for educational institutions, asserting that these principles are essential for achieving excellence, efficiency, and a student-centric approach, similar to their importance in industrial settings. He expressed gratitude to Prof. Meenakshi Mazumdar, the Director ITM Gwalior, for her support and leadership in enhancing the institute’s quality initiatives, as well as to Mr. Thomas Mathew, CEO of QCFI Gwalior Chapter, for his mentorship. Dr. Amin also acknowledged the contributions of his colleagues in the ITM 5-S Champions team. This recognition not only highlights Dr. Shahid Amin’s commitment to quality management and institutional development but also enhances ITM Gwalior’s standing in national discussions on education and quality practices. Additionally, Dr. Amin is known for his writings on various topics, including careers, education, and environmental sustainability, contributing to contemporary discourse on social and developmental issues.
