Tangmarg, June 14: A teachers’ conference themed “Rebuilding the Moral and Intellectual Foundation of Education in Kashmir” was organised at Tangmarg on Saturday, bringing together prominent educationists, scholars, religious leaders, and teachers to deliberate on the future of education in the Valley.

The event was attended by MLA Gulmarg Farooq Ahmad Shah as Chief Guest, while noted Islamic scholar Moulana Mufti Nazir Ahmad Qasmi attended as Guest of Honour. Dr. Nazir Ahmad Zargar, Senior Assistant Professor at the Central University of Kashmir, delivered the keynote address, and Muhammad Latief Khan, Founder and Chairman of MS Education Academy, addressed the gathering as a guest speaker.
Speaking on the occasion, Farooq Ahmad Shah stressed the importance of value-based education and said that the purpose of education should extend beyond academic achievements. He emphasized the need to cultivate moral values, critical thinking, creativity, and practical knowledge among students to prepare them for contemporary challenges.

Highlighting the vital role of teachers in nation-building, the MLA called for an education system that balances intellectual growth with ethical and character development. He appreciated educators for their continued contribution towards shaping a responsible and progressive society.

The speakers collectively underscored the need to strengthen the moral and intellectual framework of education in Kashmir. They observed that education should aim at producing enlightened, skilled, and socially responsible citizens capable of contributing positively to society.

The conference concluded with a shared commitment by participants to promote quality education, independent thinking, innovation, and moral responsibility across educational institutions in Kashmir.
