Admissions open for over 300 ODL and Online Programmes through 30 Study Centres

Srinagar : Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has initiated the admission process for the July 2026 session for its Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online Programmes in the Kashmir Valley and Ladakh.

The university is offering over 300 programmes, including Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Certificate, Diploma, and PG Diploma courses, through 30 study centres under the IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar. Applicants can submit their applications online via the IGNOU Official Website or the IGNOU Admission Portal. To apply, candidates must create a User ID and Password on the SAMARTH portal and prepare necessary documents, including a mobile number, email ID, scanned academic records, a photograph, APAAR ID, and online payment options. It is recommended that applicants use their personal mobile numbers and email addresses for registration and retain their login information for future access. IGNOU has also launched several new academic programmes, such as Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUP) in various disciplines, including Commerce, Economics, and Sociology, as well as a Master’s degree in Climate Change and a PG Diploma in Climate Change. Dr. A.H. Rizvi, the Regional Director of IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar, urged prospective students to complete their admissions promptly and warned against fraudulent communications requesting payments through unofficial channels, emphasizing that payments should only be made through IGNOU’s official online platforms. The deadline for submitting online admission forms is set for July 15, 2026. Additionally, re-registration for the July 2026 session is currently open for students already enrolled in ODL and Online programmes. Those in their second and subsequent years or semesters must complete re-registration by June 30, 2026, to avoid any last-minute issues. For further assistance, students can reach out to the IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar via phone or email.
