DC Ramban reviews SANJY-2026 arrangements at Lamber Banihal

Ramban : Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan Saturday conducted an extensive visit to Lamber Banihal to assess the arrangements for the Amarnath Yatra -2026. He inspected ongoing arrangements being made by the line departments at the Yatra camp Lamber and other designated locations.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police Arun Gupta; ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak; SDM Banihal Mohammad NaseebBajraan; Executive Engineer of PWD and Jal Shakti Department, Tehsildar Banihal, officers of CRPF and other concerned departments.

During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the arrangements being put in place for pilgrims as well as security personnel deployed along the Yatra route. Emphasis was laid on expansion of accommodation, sanitation and toilet facilities and the essential infrastructure at the camp.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the PWD, Jal Shakti, RDD, JPDCL and other departments to ensure completion of all works well in advance. He stressed upon all departments and stakeholder agencies to work in close coordination to ensure safe, smooth and hassle-free conduct of Amarnath Yatra-2026.

The PWD was asked to develop proper pathways within and around Yatra camp area to facilitate smooth movement of yatris.  Stressing the importance of sanitation and waste management, the DC instructed ACP to ensure proper waste and garbage disposal mechanisms at the site.

To augment the facilities at the camp, the SDM Banihal was directed to identify suitable land for creating infrastructure and making related arrangements. While discussing security arrangements with SSP, the Deputy Commissioner asked to install more CCTV cameras and further strengthen security measures at the location.

Highlighting the need for better coordination and management during the Yatra, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to expand the existing meeting hall and improve related infrastructure for smooth functioning of administrative and security operations.
