DC Ramban reviews Eid-ul-Azha arrangements

Ramban : Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan Friday chaired a meeting of senior officers and representatives of religious organizations to review the arrangements being made across the district for the smooth and peaceful celebration of Eid-ul-Azha,.

The meeting was attended by SSP Arun Gupta; ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak; SDM Ramsoo Syed Mazahir Hussain; Dy.SP Traffic Sajjad Khan; religious leaders; members of Beopar Mandal; and other concerned officers.

A comprehensive discussion was held regarding the arrangements being put in place by the stakeholder departments for the celebration of Eid,.

The Deputy Commissioner issued strict instructions to the concerned departments to keep a close check on overcharging, hoarding and black-marketing of essential commodities. He stressed the importance of ensuring the quality and adequate availability of eatables, particularly during the festive period.

Responding to the issues highlighted by the religious leaders, the Deputy Commissioner directed traffic police officers to ensure proper traffic regulation and effective vehicle parking management.

To ensure smooth civic functioning, the DC directed departments providing essential services to take all necessary measures for uninterrupted power and drinking water supply, besides maintaining adequate stocks of essential commodities at reasonable rates.

He also instructed the enforcement teams to conduct regular joint market inspections to curb unethical practices and ensure the availability of quality products.

Emphasizing sanitation, the Deputy Commissioner directed the CEO, Municipal Council Ramban, to carry out intensive cleanliness drives in and around mosques and other religious places. Similar instructions were issued to the Executive Officers of Municipal Committees Banihal and Batote.

Further, the DC directed Sub-Divisional Magistrates and Tehsildars to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place in their respective jurisdictions to facilitate smooth and festive celebrations of Eid-ul-Azha across the district.
