Washington, May 15 (Sputnik/UNI) US President Donald Trump said that China does not want Iran to obtain nuclear weapons.
“I don’t think China wants Iran to have a nuclear weapon either,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News.
He also said that China may influence Iran so that the latter strikes a deal with the United States.
Trump is paying a state visit to China from May 13-15. The visit marks the first trip of a US leader to China in nine years. On Thursday, the two leaders held talks, and on Friday, a working lunch is scheduled.
