DC Srinagar assesses implementation of Mission YUVA scheme in district

Srinagar : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, AkshayLabrooTuesday chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex to assess the implementation and progress of Mission YUVA scheme in the District.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Rifat Aftab, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Aadil Fareed, IAS Probationer, Alfred Thomas, General Manger DIC, Abid Hussain, Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, SDM West, Irfan Bahadur, SDM East, Zubair Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Umar Gulzar,  Deputy Director Employment, ShubiTabasum, Zonal Head Jammu and Kashmir Bank, LDM (Banks), Officers of all line Departments and various branch heads of J&K Bank.

At the outset, the DC took a detailed review of applications at various stages under the scheme, including registration, verification, approval, sanction and loan disbursement.

Emphasizing the importance of the scheme, the DC stated that Mission YUVA is aimed at empowering youth and fostering a robust entrepreneurship ecosystem by providing financial assistance, mentorship and institutional support to them. He underscored the need for close coordination among implementing agencies, financial institutions and line departments to ensure effective ground-level execution.  He stressed the need for expeditious processing of applications, prompt loan sanctioning and swift disbursement by the Banks to eligible beneficiaries.

The DC instructed the banks to expedite sanctioning and ensure timely disbursement of all approved cases so that eligible young entrepreneurs are able to access financial assistance without delay for establishing their ventures. He further called for sustained monitoring and regular follow-up to ensure smooth and effective implementation of the scheme at the ground level.

During the meeting, the DC also reviewed the functioning of SBDUs and BHDs, along with the recruitment process for contractual staff under the initiative. He also reviewed the status of empanelment of motivators, external trainers and enterprise mentors was also assessed, with emphasis on strengthening mentoring and capacity-building support for aspiring entrepreneurs under Mission YUVA.
