Ganderbal :Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore Thursday chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the implementation and progress of the Pradhan Mantri Surya GharMuft Bijli Yojana in the district.

During the meeting, a detailed review of SRT installation, registration, sanction and disbursement of cases under the PM Surya Ghar scheme was conducted. Officers/Officials  of KPDCL informed the chair that a total of 911 SRTs have been installed in the district. It was further informed that 437 cases are presently pending with banks for processing and disbursement.

Expressing concern over the pendency and gap in progress in some areas, particularly Kangan, Manigam and other pockets, the DC stressed the need for expeditious disposal of all pending applications. He directed all concerned officers to work in close coordination with banks and ensure that the existing gaps are bridged within a fixed timeframe.

The DC instructed officers to maintain close liason with the bank branches, monitor the status of pending cases on a daily basis and facilitate speedy resolution of genuine issues faced by beneficiaries.

He emphasized that the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Scheme is a flagship initiative of the Government of India aimed at promoting clean energy adoption and reducing the electricity burden on households, and therefore its implementation must be taken up in mission mode.

The DC  further directed all concerned officers to intensify field monitoring, ensure better public outreach and remove bottlenecks hampering progress so that eligible beneficiaries receive timely benefits under the scheme.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Superintending Engineer KPDCL, Chief Planning Officer, Executive Engineer KPDCL, Cluster Head J&K Bank, Assistant Executive Engineers and other concerned officials.
