Pulwama : Kashmir Medical College and Hospital (KMC&H), Sempora, on Wednesday organised a free medical camp at District Hospital (DH) Pulwama as part of its ongoing extensive community health outreach programme.

Faculty members and super specialists from KMCH across various departments provided free consultations to patients in multiple specialties. Free medicines and diagnostic investigations, including USG, were also provided.

The recent healthcare camp organized by KMCH was supervised by Managing Director Tausif Ahmad and Principal/Dean Prof. Nazir Ahmad Khan, with participation from faculty members, super specialist doctors, and staff. The initiative aimed to enhance community health and provide access to quality healthcare, particularly for underprivileged populations. Tausif Ahmad emphasized the importance of these outreach programs in ensuring that no patient is deprived of necessary medical care due to geographical or financial barriers. He expressed a commitment to expanding these initiatives to reach more communities and improve lives. Prof. Nazir Ahmad Khan noted the positive response from previous camps, which has motivated the planning of additional events to further benefit public healthcare. He highlighted that KMCH is the first private medical college in Jammu and Kashmir, with a capacity of 1,000 beds and plans to operationalize all super-specialty services within the year. The institution has already conducted over a dozen camps across the valley, focusing on community-based healthcare initiatives. During the recent camp, nearly 2,000 patients received free treatment from doctors across various specialties. The participation of senior faculty members and specialist doctors contributed to the camp’s success, with attendees praising the effective coordination among stakeholders.
