Washington, Apr 4: US President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Iran, saying “all hell will reign down” if Tehran fails to reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, in a strongly worded post on his Truth Social platform.
“Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT. Time is running out — 48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them. Glory be to GOD!” Trump wrote.
The latest statement comes amid escalating tensions between the United States and Iran over the closure of the vital shipping route, a key artery for global oil supplies.
Trump had earlier given Tehran a 10-day deadline to either enter into negotiations or restore access to the Strait, and has now reiterated that the final 48-hour window is running out.
The warning signals a further escalation in rhetoric, with the US President threatening severe military consequences if Iran does not comply.
The Strait of Hormuz, through which a significant portion of the world’s oil passes, has witnessed disruptions amid the ongoing conflict, raising global concerns over energy security.
