Srinagar : Bharti Airtel has reached a significant milestone by surpassing 650 million customers, solidifying its position as the second-largest telecom operator globally by mobile customer base, according to GSMA Intelligence. The company operates extensively in India and Africa, emphasizing its commitment to enhancing customer service through advanced technologies and a focus on safety and reliability.
Gopal Vittal, Executive Vice Chairman of Bharti Airtel, highlighted the responsibility that comes with this achievement, stating the company’s dedication to innovation and customer experience. Airtel’s operations in India serve over 368 million mobile customers, with notable advancements such as the launch of 5G Plus services and a comprehensive ecosystem that includes high-speed internet and digital TV offerings. The company also provides critical solutions for enterprises, leveraging a vast network of subsea fiber and green data centers to support increasing digital demands. In addition to its telecommunications services, Airtel is expanding into the Non-Banking Financial Company sector, utilizing data insights to offer tailored financial products through its app. In Africa, Airtel serves over 179 million customers across 14 countries, with a strong focus on financial inclusion through its Airtel Money platform, which has over 52 million users. Furthermore, Airtel is addressing the digital divide through partnerships with Eutelsat OneWeb and SpaceX, aiming to deliver high-speed broadband to remote areas via Low Earth Orbit satellites. This strategic approach underscores Airtel’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and fostering digital growth across its markets.
