UGC Rajbhasha inspection committee interacts with CUKashmir functionaries

Jammu :In the wake of the visit of UGC Rajbhasha Inspection Committee to the Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir), the varsity organized an interaction session of the panel members with Statutory and Group-A (Non-Teaching) officers at Tulmulla campus here on Friday,

Addressing the gathering, Registrar, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir, gave a detailed overview of the initiatives undertaken by the University to ensure the implementation of the Rajbhasha Policy in letter and spirit.

Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir informed the visiting committee that a substantial number of employees have successfully qualified various Hindi language proficiency courses, including Prabodh (elementary), Praveen (middle), and Pragya (higher secondary) and Parangat (language proficient course). “These structured programmes are aimed at equipping employees with the necessary skills to effectively use Hindi in official correspondence and documentation,” he added.  He emphasized that the University has made significant strides in promoting linguistic inclusivity and enhancing the functional use of Hindi in administrative and academic processes.

Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Shahid Rasool, underscored the enthusiastic participation of employees in learning Hindi. He observed that the adoption of Hindi is not merely procedural but is being embraced with genuine interest and commitment. He further acknowledged the guidance and support extended by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, in fostering an enabling environment for the promotion and implementation of Rajbhasha Hindi across the University.

Joint Secretary, UGC, Dr. G. S. Chauhan, who was flanked by Mr. Chandra Prakash, suggested that the Rajbhasha Cell should intensify its efforts by organizing more training programmes, guest lectures and workshops aimed at familiarizing employees with the latest technological tools for using Hindi efficiently in official work. He further underlined the need to strengthen employees’ proficiency in both reading and writing Hindi and urged the University administration to adopt proactive measures to promote and expand the use of Hindi across all spheres of institutional functioning. He emphasized that the progress made by the University in implementation of the Rajbhasha Policy is commendable. The session was followed by a presentation by Hindi Adhikari, Dr.Sakeena Akhter, who showcased different initiatives undertaken by the Rajbhasha Cell for promotion of Hindi.
