Says “CRPF restored peace in J&K without firing a single bullet post-Art 370”

“Nation indebted to 2,270 CRPF jawans who died in the line of duty, India set to be Naxal-free by March 31, 2026”

Guwhati (Assam): Crediting security forces, particularly the Central Reserve Police Force, for restoring peace in Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that incidents of stone pelting in Kashmir have come down to “zero.”

Addressing  87th Raising Day parade of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Guwahati, Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted significant improvements in internal security across India, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir, Left-Wing Extremism-affected areas, and the Northeast. He noted that stone pelting incidents in Kashmir have ceased, and development is progressing, attributing these changes to the efforts of the CRPF, BSF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police. Shah emphasized that since the abrogation of Article 370, not a single bullet has been fired in the region, underscoring the CRPF’s crucial role in maintaining peace. Shah reflected on the transformation of previously troubled regions into engines of growth, crediting the sacrifices of CRPF martyrs for these advancements. He acknowledged the CRPF’s 86-year history of dedication to internal security, stating that over 2,270 CRPF personnel have made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation. The parade’s location in the Northeast marked a historic first, celebrating the CRPF’s evolution from two battalions in 1939 to 248 battalions today, making it the world’s largest Central Armed Police Force. The Home Minister also discussed the successful operations against Naxalism, asserting that the CRPF and CoBRA forces have played a pivotal role in eradicating this threat, with a goal to eliminate Naxalism by March 2026. He recounted the challenges faced during Operation Black Forest, where CRPF personnel operated under extreme conditions to dismantle Naxalite strongholds. Additionally, Shah praised the CRPF’s contributions to maintaining security during major religious events. On this occasion Shah also laid the foundation stone for the headquarters of the 10th Battalion of the Assam Police and expressed confidence in Assam’s development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, predicting it will become an industrial hub in the coming years. He reiterated the government’s commitment to removing infiltrators from the country, linking this effort to electoral integrity and national security. Shah concluded by asserting that under the current government, both Assam and the nation will be liberated from Naxalism and infiltrators.
