JAMMU, FEBRUARY 14: The 76 Bn CRPF today solemnly observed the seventh death anniversary of the martyrs of the Pulwama terror attack as “Remembrance Day” at its Headquarters in Gangyal, Jammu.

On February 14, 2019, the nation witnessed one of the most heinous terrorist attacks when a vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (IED) struck a CRPF convoy on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Lethpora, Pulwama. The attack resulted in the supreme sacrifice of 40 valiant CRPF personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

The 76 Bn CRPF lost five of its brave personnel in the attack: Shaheed HC/GD Naseer Ahmed, Shaheed HC/DVR Jaimal Singh, Shaheed CT/GD Rohtas Lamba, Shaheed CT/GD Sukhjinder Singh and Shaheed CT/Bugler Tilak Raj.

A solemn wreath-laying ceremony was organised at the Battalion Headquarters today, wherein Commandant 76 Bn CRPF Vezoto Tinyi, Second-in-Command Jayram Prasad, Second-in-Command Sangeeta Chouhan, Assistant Commandant Anil Kumar and other officers paid homage to the martyrs.
