Baramulla : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, Wednesday chaired a meeting of the District Level Committee (DLC) under the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhaniya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) to strategize agricultural development initiatives for the upcoming financial year.
The committee conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the proposed departmental interventions aimed at strengthening the agricultural sector in the district.
After detailed deliberations, the committee approved a total budget outlay of Rs. 37.11 crore for Baramulla district. The funds have been earmarked for enhancing crop productivity, modernizing irrigation infrastructure, and extending direct support to farmers in accordance with PMDDKY guidelines.
The approved Annual Action Plan has been formally submitted to the UT Level Committee (UTLC) of PMDDKY for final sanction and mobilization of funds.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized transparency, accountability, and time-bound execution of the approved projects. He directed all concerned departments to ensure effective implementation so that the benefits of the Rs 37.11 crore outlay reach the grassroots level, particularly small and marginal farmers, thereby strengthening the rural economy of the district.
