National Lok Adalat to be Held Across B’pora on Dec 13

Bandipora : District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bandipora, under the guidance of the Chairman, J&K Legal Services Authority, has informed that the next National Lok Adalat will be conducted across the district on December 13, 2025 (Saturday).

The National Lok Adalat is a vital public initiative aimed at ensuring speedy, amicable, and affordable dispute resolution, enabling citizens to settle their cases without prolonged litigation.

To ensure ease of access to justice for people from all areas of the district, multiple Lok Adalat benches will be set up. The benches will function in all courts operating from the District Court Complex, Bandipora, covering matters pending before the Principal District & Sessions Judge, Bandipora, Additional District Judge (Special Judge NIA), Bandipora, Chief Judicial Magistrate/Sub-Judge, Bandipora, Judicial Magistrate/Munsiff, Bandipora and

Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, Bandipora.

Additionally, dedicated benches will also operate at the Court of Munsiff/Judicial Magistrate, Sumbal and Munsiff/Judicial Magistrate, Gurez to facilitate litigants from far-flung areas and reduce travel inconvenience.

The National Lok Adalat will take up a wide range of pre-litigation and pending cases, including Motor Accident Claims, Cheque Bounce Cases (NI Act Section 138), Criminal Compoundable Offences, Family and Matrimonial Disputes, Bank Recovery and Loan Settlement Cases, Public Utility Service Matters (electricity, water, etc.), Civil Disputes and Money Recovery Cases andTraffic Challans (Compoundable).

All litigants falling under these categories are urged to participate and utilize the opportunity for early settlement of their matters.

DLSA Bandipora has appealed to litigants, advocates, bank and insurance representatives, and the general public to approach the Office of DLSA Bandipora or the court staff at the District Court Complex Bandipora, Sumbal, and Gurez at the earliest, so that their matters can be identified, processed, and listed for hearing well in time.
