Reasi: District Legal Services Authority ReasiFriday convened a meeting with Advocates handling MACT Matters and awareness programs including door to door visits to make people aware about the upcoming 4th National Lok Adalat- 2025.

This initiative was effectively overseen by Member Secretary JK Legal Services Authority Shazia Tabasum; Chairman DLSA (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Kahlil Ahmed Choudhary.

The meeting was convened by the Secretary DLSA Pooja Gupta with advocates dealing with Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) matters, with reference to the forthcoming Lok Adalat scheduled to be held on Dec 13, 2025.

The Secretary DLSA Reasi sought the cooperation of the advocates for ensuring maximum disposal of MACT cases through amicable settlement in the Lok Adalat. The meeting noted that early and fair settlement in motor accident claims not only provides timely relief to victims and their families but also reduces prolonged litigation. The Advocates were further requested to identify claim petitions that are mature for settlement and share the list with the DLSA for preliminary discussions with the concerned Insurance Company representatives to explore the possibility of mutually agreeable compensation in appropriate cases.

Apart from this, awareness programs were organised in different parts of the District, including District Court Complex to make masses aware about the upcoming National Lok Adalat.
