Srinagar, Dec 3, : Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Wednesday held a review meeting with all Deputy Commissioners to assess progress on key administrative and relief-related issues across the Valley, including jobs for families of militancy victims, housing for affected families and disposal of public grievances.
During the meeting, the status of appointments under SRO-43 for families affected by militancy-related violence came up for detailed review. The Divisional Commissioner directed all district heads to expedite processing of pending cases to ensure eligible family members receive appointments without further delay.
The meeting also reviewed the implementation of self-employment schemes, with directions issued to motivate affected families, including minorities, to take advantage of these programmes. Officers were asked to actively guide beneficiaries to ensure the schemes translate into actual livelihood support on the ground.
Land transfer cases involving security agencies were another major focus area. Garg asked Deputy Commissioners to strictly follow provisions under land mutation laws while processing such cases to avoid legal and revenue complications.
Public grievance disposal through the official e-office platform was reviewed district-wise, with instructions to clear backlogs on priority and ensure time-bound redressal of complaints raised by locals.
Progress on installation of BSNL towers in shadow zones was also examined, with DCs directed to ensure completion of pending works to improve telecom connectivity in uncovered areas.
Deputy Commissioners of Budgam, Baramulla, Srinagar and Bandipora were told to adopt a uniform policy for relocation of transmission poles affected by the ongoing Ring Road project.
The meeting further decided that families of terror victims would be clubbed with those affected by cross-border shelling for benefits under the housing construction scheme.
On stamp duty revision, Garg called for aligning district-wise changes with prevailing market rates and land acquisition realities.
Officials briefed the Divisional Commissioner on the status of pending cases in their respective districts and were asked to speed up decision-making and field-level execution.
