DC B’gam Conducts On-Spot Inspection of MRF, ABC Centres at Lakhripora

Budgam : District Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, Wednesday conducted an on-spot inspection of the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) Centre and the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Centre at Lakhripora to review their functioning and overall progress.
The DC was accompanied by the Chief Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Budgam, and other concerned officers who briefed him on current activities and challenges.
During the visit, the DC inspected various sections of both facilities and interacted with officials and staff to assess operational efficiency.
He underscored the need for scientific and systematic solid waste management to safeguard public health and ensure cleaner surroundings across the district.
Emphasising humane and effective management of stray animal populations, the DC directed the concerned officers to strictly adhere to Animal Birth Control guidelines and ensure transparency in all processes.
On the occasion, the DC said measuring 7 kanals has been identified for the establishment of a dedicated ABC Centre in District Budgam, aimed at further strengthening the district’s animal welfare infrastructure.
The DC instructed officials to ensure proper functioning, regular monitoring, and strict compliance with all norms to enhance service delivery and achieve improved outcomes in waste management and animal welfare sectors in District Budgam.
