The tournament was inaugurated by SSP Handwara Shri Sahil Sarangal-IPS, in the presence of senior police officers, local dignitaries, and a large number of enthusiastic spectators. The opening match of the tournament was played between United Sports Jahama and Victory Vipers Mawar, which witnessed an exciting contest and active support from local cricket lovers. A total of 12 teams from different parts of Mawar and its adjoining areas are participating in the tournament. The event will follow the knock-out format, ensuring competitive and engaging matches throughout the tournament. It was announced that the winners and runners-up will be awarded trophies along with cash rewards as a token of encouragement and appreciation for their talent and sportsmanship.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Handwara highlighted the importance of such initiatives in channelizing the energy of youth in a positive direction and fostering unity, discipline, and healthy competition. He reiterated that J&K Police will continue to conduct community-oriented activities under CAP to promote harmony and support youth development.
