Ramban: Continuing the 150th anniversary celebrations of India’s National Song ‘Vande Mataram’, the District Administration Ramban, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan, Thursday organized a series of thematic events including youth rallies, mini marathons, awareness walks and painting competitions across the district to celebrate national unity and pride.

At Batote, DIG DKR Range, Shridhar Patil led a spirited ‘Vande Mataram’ rally organized by the Police Department, Department of Youth Services & Sports and the Department of Education. He was accompanied by Tehsildar, Dr. Reejuta Mahajan and other officers. The rally, comprising students of Government Girls High School Batote, commenced from Shaheed Sarfraz Chowk and culminated at Shaheed Havildar Swaroop Singh Memorial Chowk. Students waving the national tricolour and chanting patriotic slogans filled the air with enthusiasm and national fervour.

At Gool, the Youth Services and Sports Department, in collaboration with the Sub-Divisional Administration, organized a vibrant youth rally from Food Store Gool to Forest Office Gool, led by SDM Gool, Imtiaz and Tehsildar, Harjeet Singh. Students from various schools participated with enthusiasm, carrying banners and raising slogans celebrating the spirit of unity and patriotism.

Similarly, a Walkathon was organized from GMHSS Banihal to TantrayporaDoligam, drawing wide participation from youth and locals. At GMHSS Ramban, a painting competition on the theme of Patriotism and Vande Mataram was held, showcasing students’ creative expression and deep sense of national pride.

The district-wide events collectively reflected Ramban’s commitment to celebrating India’s cultural heritage and promoting the ideals of unity, freedom and devotion to the nation.
