GenBipin Rawat Memorial Kashmir Women’s Premier league (KWPL) concludes in B’la

Srinagar :  General Bipin Rawat Memorial KWPL 2025 (Third Edition), was hosted under the aegis of Chinar Corps Dagger Division from 24 Oct 2025 to 07 Nov 2025 in collaboration with Baramulla Cricket Forum.

The cricketing event was dedicated to Late General Bipin Rawat, India’s first Chief of Defence, Staff which encourages budding talent and highlights the aspirations and participation of Kashmiri women in mainstream sports. KWPL 2025, was graced by military and civilian dignitaries alongwith members of Baramulla Cricket Forum and prominent sports personalities. Event left an indelible mark amongst the Kashmiri Youth especially women, celebrating the prowess and determination of sportswomen from across the valley. Event was conducted under two categories, Amateur and Pro-League with 10 & 08 teams participating respectively. The final match in Amateu 39 category was played between Govt Higher Secondary School, Baramulla and Army Goodwill School, Uri with Army Goodwill School, Uri emerging as a winner while in Pro-League category, played between Game Swingers Baramulla and Anantang Rebels, Anantang Rebels were the victors.

GOC Dagger Division lauded the enthusiasm and performance of the players, saying that “The hard work and skill displayed by the young women reflects the true spirit of Kashmir – confident, aspiring, resilient and progressive. The initiative stands as a beacon of women empowerment and inclusivity, and such tournaments pave way for vibrant and enthusiastic Kashmir.”
