Ramban: To strengthen grassroots governance and ensure on the spot resolution of public issues, Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan Saturday convened a Public Grievances Redressal Camp at Sumber as part of his public outreach initiative.

The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from locals, senior officers and officials. Chairperson DDC Ramban, Dr. Shamshad Shan, DDC Members, ACD and other district officers.

During the camp, several deputations and individuals put forth demands related to release of compensation for land acquired for Railway Project, employment opportunities for local youth in companies executing ongoing railway works, provision of ambulance, up-gradation and maintenance of roads, speedy completion of school buildings, filling of vacant posts in the Education Department and establishment of a Health Sub-Centre at Sumber.

Responding to the demands, the Deputy Commissioner resolved several grievances on the spot by issuing directions to the concerned officers. He directed the departments to adopt a result-oriented and proactive approach to address public concerns, ensuring transparency and accountability at every level.

Highlighting the importance of participatory governance, the DC encouraged locals to avail the benefits of government’s social assistance, employment and youth-oriented schemes being implemented through various departments. He also asked residents to identify suitable land for establishing a Health Centre, so that the matter could be taken up with the concerned authorities for sanction.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that directions have already been issued to officers to organize such grievances redressal camps regularly across the district to bridge the gap between the administration and citizens, thereby bringing governance to people’s doorsteps. He said that district administration is making all efforts to ensure inclusive development, timely service delivery and a responsive administrative framework for all sections of society.

The Deputy Commissioner assured that all genuine demands would be addressed in a time-bound manner.
