Job Fair & Entrepreneurship Mela held at GDC Banihal under Mission Yuva

Ramban| :  The District Employment & Counselling Centre (DE&CC) Ramban on Thursday organized a Job Fair and Entrepreneurship Mela at Government Degree College Banihal under Mission Yuva.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 500 youth of district Ramban.

The programme was inaugurated by MLA Banihal Sajad Shaheen in the presence of Assistant Director Employment, Amit Kumar and the college Principal Dr. Shafiq Katoch.

A total of 10 reputed companies participated in the Job Fair, offering over 200 job openings across different sectors. During the recruitment drive, around 180 youth were shortlisted for various employment opportunities.

Later, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Mohammad Nasseb joined the event and handed over five sanction letters under Mission Yuva to eligible beneficiaries, encouraging self-employment and entrepreneurship among the youth.

Additionally, 50 candidates were registered under the entrepreneurship scheme of Mission Yuva, reflecting the growing interest of young people in self-reliant ventures.

Later, the MLA handed over keys to entrepreneurs who had applied for passenger and commercial vehicles under Mission YUVA.

The event also featured counselling and financial awareness sessions    by representatives from J&K Bank, providing valuable guidance to participants on career development, entrepreneurship and financial literacy.

Staff members of the District Employment & Counselling Centre, Ramban and Government Degree College, Banihal were also present and played an active role in coordinating and facilitating the successful conduct of the programme.

MLA Sajjad Shaheen appreciated the efforts of the Employment Department for organizing such a meaningful programme that connects youth with employment and entrepreneurial opportunities. He urged participants to take full advantage of the initiatives being implemented under Mission Yuva.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the College Principal, who expressed gratitude to all participating departments, companies and stakeholders for their cooperation in making the event a grand success.
