Srinagar | : The two-day national conference “Inframet Bharat – Engineering the Atma Nirbhar Future” concluded on Tuesday at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, emphasizing the need for sustainable and innovation-driven approaches in civil, metallurgical, and materials engineering to support India’s self-reliant vision.
Organized by the Departments of Civil Engineering and Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, the event gathered experts, academicians, and industry representatives to discuss the role of engineering innovation in fostering a resilient future. Under the leadership of Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia, Director of NIT Srinagar, and other key figures, the conference featured three keynote sessions. Dr. Anupam B. R. from NIT Surathkal presented insights on thermodynamic modeling for enhancing pavement performance. Dr. Nemu Chand Reger from NIT Trichy discussed advancements in melting techniques for biomaterials, highlighting their impact on biomedical and structural applications. Dr. Sunil Kumar Jatav from Welspun Corps Ltd. addressed recent innovations in pipe manufacturing technology, focusing on smart manufacturing and sustainable practices. The conference also included technical sessions where participants presented research on innovative materials and advanced processing techniques, fostering engagement and collaboration. The event concluded with a valedictory session where certificates and awards were distributed, recognizing outstanding contributions. Dr. Yashwant Mehta evaluated the best paper presentations based on originality and technical merit. Dr. Anshul Gupta, the Organizing Secretary, expressed gratitude to all contributors, noting that the conference served as a vital platform for academic exchange and collaboration between academia and industry, ultimately aiming to advance sustainable engineering solutions in line with the national mission of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
