Srinagar | : Police on Thursday said that in close coordination with the Geology & Mining Department, it has seized four vehicles (3 Tipper & 1 Tractor) engaged in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar the seized vehicles, illegally loaded with minerals extracted from Nallah Sindh, were intercepted within the jurisdiction of police Station Lar, Police Station Safapora and Police Post Shadipora. The registration numbers of the seized vehicles are JK02F-3654, JK02W-9240, JK04-6997 and JK16-3011.
Police in its statement appealed people to cooperate with it by sharing any information about such unlawful activities in their areas, assuring therein complete confidentiality of the informants and strict legal action against those indulging in illegal mining.
