Distinguished alumni to return to their alma mater with generous endowments, awards, and inspiring talks
Srinagar | : The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar is set to host its Global Alumni Meet – Sangam 2025 on October 10 and 11, marking a significant milestone in the institute’s history.
The two-day event will bring together hundreds of alumni from around the world, celebrating gratitude, philanthropy, and the strong connection between graduates and their alma mater. For the first time, NIT Srinagar will present alumni-endowed medals and awards during the Alumni Academic Assembly (AAA) 2025, coinciding with the Global Meet. Notable alumni have made generous contributions to promote academic excellence and innovation among current students. Key contributors include Dr. Pradeep Tyle, who has donated ₹4 lakh to establish annual awards across major engineering branches, and Er. Ashok Dhar, who has instituted the Ashok Dhar Gold Medal for top-performing students in Chemical Engineering with a ₹2 lakh contribution. Other significant donations include Er. B. Madhusudhana Rao’s ₹2 lakh for the Madhusudhana Rao Gold Medal in Mechanical Engineering, and Dr. Sultana N. Nahar’s establishment of prizes for excellence in Physics and Mathematics to encourage Kashmiri students in STEM fields. Additionally, Er. M.G.V. Sridhar has created a gold medal in memory of his father, a respected faculty member, while Dr. Arun Jaura has pledged ₹3 lakh for the Traktion Technology & Innovation Award. The event will feature interactive sessions, keynote addresses, and panel discussions led by distinguished alumni. Notable speakers include Mr. Deepesh Kaushish, who will discuss global energy transitions, and Dr. Ajit Nair, who will share insights on innovations in medical device technology.
