Panjim (Goa) : Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized the positive impact of the Aatmnirbhar Bharat initiative on India’s economy, highlighting its role in promoting Make in India and attracting global manufacturing. He noted that this initiative is also addressing unemployment issues, with significant tax reforms increasing the income tax exemption limit from Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 12 lakh, thereby enhancing purchasing power, particularly for women.
Addressing a gathering at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium in Bambolim, Shah launched the ‘Mhaje Ghar Yojana’ and laid the foundation for various development projects. He urged Goa’s Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to continue the Swayampurna Goa initiative, which aligns with Aatmnirbhar Bharat, to effectively tackle local challenges and strive for Goa’s development as a fully developed state. In a separate event celebrating Bastar Dussehra, Shah discussed the government’s strategy to combat the Naxalite movement in Chhattisgarh, asserting that there is no room for negotiation with Naxals. He announced a deadline of March 31, 2026, to eliminate Naxalism from India, emphasizing the government’s commitment to the development of Naxal-affected regions. Shah encouraged the youth to reject violence and the Naxal movement, advocating for a Swadeshi approach to bolster the economy, supported by recent GST rate reductions.
