Srinagar | : Police on Wednesday organized an awareness program at Dak Bungalow Sopore, engaging students, parents, teachers, religious leaders, and civil society members to tackle the critical issues of drug abuse and social crimes.

The initiative aimed to educate both youth and parents about the dangers of drug abuse while highlighting the essential role of religious leaders in guiding the community against these threats. Speakers at the event emphasized the devastating effects of drug abuse and related crimes on families and communities, calling for a collective effort from all stakeholders to combat this issue. Religious scholars encouraged students and parents to lead disciplined lives, cultivate strong social values, and avoid the pitfalls of drug abuse and other social crimes. They stressed the importance of shared responsibility in fostering a healthier and safer future for the next generation. Police in a statement issued on Thursday reiterated their zero-tolerance policy towards narcotics and social crimes, reaffirming their commitment to combine law enforcement with community outreach and awareness initiatives.
