JK cabinet recommends Assembly session From Oct 13

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, today recommended convening the Legislative Assembly from October 13, official sources said. The proposal will now be sent to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for approval.
While there was no official announcement on the Assembly session, a government spokesman said the Cabinet meeting at the Civil Secretariat, Srinagar, discussed several agenda items concerning public welfare, administrative efficiency, and developmental priorities across the union Territory.
The meeting was attended by the Council of Ministers, including Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Ministers Sakina Itoo, Javed Ahmed Rana, Javid Ahmed Dar, and Satish Sharma. Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo was also present, the spokesman said.
Official sources said the Cabinet has recommended a nearly week-long Assembly session starting October 13.
Under the J&K Reorganisation Act, 2019, the Assembly must meet at least twice within six months. The last session concluded on April 28, making the next one due by September 28.
Earlier this year, a one-day special sitting was held after the Pahalgam terror attack, while the budget session took place in Jammu from March 3 to April 9.
