Ashok Koul, Sharma inaugurate exhibition under Seva Pakhwada at Lal Chowk
Srinagar: Sunil Sharma, the Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Monday expressed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) commitment to supporting flood-affected individuals, promising a comprehensive relief package.
Sharma criticized Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his absence during the crisis, noting that Abdullah was preoccupied with travel plans while the region suffered from severe flooding due to heavy rainfall. Sharma highlighted that senior BJP leaders, including Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, visited affected families to provide support. Although there are reports of Prime Minister Narendra Modi planning a visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Sharma stated that he lacks information regarding this matter, emphasizing his position outside the Prime Minister’s Office. In a related event, Sharma and BJP General Secretary Ashok Koul inaugurated an exhibition celebrating Prime Minister Modi’s life and achievements as part of the ongoing Seva Pakhwada celebrations in Srinagar. Sharma praised the initiative for its role in educating the younger generation about Modi’s dedication and the values of perseverance and service to society. Koul described the exhibition as a tribute to Modi’s journey from humble beginnings to becoming a globally recognized leader, underscoring his commitment to national service and the upliftment of the poor. The exhibition aims to inspire citizens, particularly youth, to embrace values of dedication and a nation-first mindset.
