Jammu: The Literary Club of GGM Science College, in partnership with Aatam Nirbhar Bharat on Wednesday commemorated World Literacy Day with a panel discussion centered on the theme “Technology Replacing Human Creativity.”
The event, held in the college Conference Hall, saw active participation from both faculty and students. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta highlighted the importance of intellectual discussions in fostering critical thinking and encouraging students to transcend conventional boundaries. He emphasized the necessity of balancing technological innovation with human creativity, asserting that 21st-century literacy encompasses more than just reading and writing; it involves cultivating the ability to think critically, question, and innovate responsibly. The event was organized under the leadership of Dr. Jatinder Kour, Dr. Yasmeen Mughal, and Dr. Shalini Sharma, with support from the Literary Club and Aatam Nirbhar Bharat committee members, as well as student volunteers. The session, moderated by Ms. Hanshika Sharma, concluded with motivating remarks from Ms. Manmeet Kour, who encouraged students to view technology as a tool that enhances rather than diminishes human creativity.
