Srinagar: Senior Superintendent of Police Handwara, Mushtaq Ahmad Chowdhary on Monday convened a comprehensive crime and security review meeting at the District Police Office in Handwara.
The meeting included key police officials such as the Additional SP, SDPOs, SHOs, and investigating officers, focusing on a thorough assessment of crime records, security preparedness, and law and order measures. During the meeting, the SSP emphasized the importance of addressing the terror ecosystem, particularly in relation to cases under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). He called for a strategic approach to dismantle terrorist networks and their support systems, including the identification and attachment of properties linked to these entities. The need for expedited inquest proceedings was also highlighted, with directives for timely and merit-based case resolutions, ensuring accountability throughout the investigative process. The SSP addressed the ongoing drug crisis, urging a sustained effort against narcotics and habitual offenders to protect the youth and community. He underscored the necessity for high-quality investigations that lead to successful convictions, along with timely charge-sheet submissions and effective court follow-ups.
