New Delhi | Sept, 5 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Friday extended heartfelt wishes to the nation on Teachers’ Day, emphasizing the crucial role teachers play in shaping a brighter future. He acknowledged their dedication and compassion, highlighting that their efforts are foundational to nurturing young minds. The day, celebrated annually on September 5, marks the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a revered scholar and the first Vice President of independent India, who significantly contributed to education and nation-building.
During his interaction with National Awardee teachers, PM Modi praised their commitment to education and urged them to inspire self-reliance among students. He stressed the importance of reducing dependence on foreign products, encouraging children to recognize and list foreign items they use daily, thereby fostering a sense of awareness and motivation for a new generation. Modi recognized the awardees’ achievements as a testament to their hard work and dedication, asserting that teachers not only influence the present but also shape future generations. He further emphasized the significance of India’s guru-disciple tradition, equating teachers to national servants and acknowledging their vital role in nation-building.
