Srinagar : Anand Jain, ADGP J&K Armed Police on Saturday inaugurated a new creche at the Headquarters of the 2nd Women Battalion, Armed Police Complex in Zewan, Srinagar.
The initiative aims to create a child-friendly environment within the battalion campus, specifically designed to support young mothers in uniform. The creche provides a safe and engaging space for children, allowing mothers to fulfill their professional duties with peace of mind. The facility is a state-of-the-art kindergarten equipped with modern amenities that promote the holistic development of children. Key features include a swimming pool for recreational activities, slides and outdoor play zones for physical development, spacious classrooms for early education, audio-visual tools for interactive learning, and various indoor and outdoor games that encourage creativity, teamwork, and social interaction. During the inauguration, Jain praised the initiative, underscoring its importance in fostering a work-life balance for women officers. He noted that such facilities reflect the humane and progressive approach of the J&K Police towards the welfare of its personnel and their families. The creche symbolizes care, inclusivity, and empowerment, integrating family welfare with professional responsibilities. It is envisioned to serve as a model facility that combines learning with play, thereby enhancing the confidence of women officers in their service. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Sheikh Junaid Mehmood, DIG IR Kashmir, Shahid Mehraj, DIG Armed Kashmir, and other notable officers, highlighting the collaborative effort in supporting the welfare of police personnel and their families
